The single blue iris’ petals are curled wide open to reveal its delicate veins and patterns as it reaches for the sunshine. It’s no wonder that Van Gogh was drawn to paint this beautiful flower. The background is painted with bold brushstrokes in soothing blues and touches of peach, green and purples.
